Enslaved by Lady Midnight

Length: 364 pages
Enter the mind and lifestyle of Derek DeWine, doctor, husband and Master. In his world a group of prestigious men, all Masters as well, run a hospital specializing in body modifications such as breast augmentation. Derek is a breast man in every sense of the word. When potential patient, Calista Carter visits his office wanting her breasts enlarged, he sees something in this former Olympic gold medal winner, something he wants for himself. He offers her a place in his project, but she needs to make changes in her ways. She needs to get off the pain killers she’s been taking for her hip injury and she needs to gain weight. Calista also needs to get her head on straight and face her past.
Derek’s methods are experimental and much more natural than the accepted ways of today. He uses the body’s own fats to build up the breast and pain is managed by orgasm. But Calista needs more than larger breasts. She needs to place her life, her very self in the hands a of a Master she can trust, love and fully surrender to. Little does Derek know he needs a slave who can love him in the only way he requires and his wife isn’t making the cut.
This is a winding tale of submission and Dominance, a world where sex is shared and controlled by these doctors. Once I began reading, I couldn’t escape and I couldn’t put the book down. I had to know what would happen next. I read it in three nights, the fastest I’ve ever read anything. While Lady Midnight shows an alternative lifestyle and brings it to light by delving deeply into her main character’s head, she also shows the humainty of her character and those he protects, owns and even loves. I didn’t like Dr. DeWine or his associates. I didn’t like the women he so desperately needed in his life, but I don’t think the author’s intent was for me to like them. She offers a side I’ve never seen, a different way to love, to experience pleasure. She explains Derek’s logic and despite my aversion to his way of thinking–it all makes sense!
I highly recommend Enslaved. It’s a curious ride that will have you cringing, on the edge of your seat, sad in some places, turned on in many others. The medical modifications underwent to please another frightened me, but the characters chose their fate, accepted it and found the contentment they so needed in their lives. The end is redeeming and reveals the true nature of every player involved. I loved this book!
